Building Australia is six part series exploring the nature of the Australian house over time screened in 2013. We’re delighted that the Beachcomber features in this journey (as well as in the promotional image above, top left).

The series, produced by Bearcage Productions, kicked off on Tuesday 30 July, 2013, on the Foxtel History Channel. It was hosted by actor, comedian and screenwriter John Doyle, best-known as ‘Roy Slaven’ of Roy and HG fame.

The sixth and final episode of Building Australia (on Tuesday 27 August) included an interview with architect Nino Sydney, as well as footage of our favourite Blue Mountains Beachcomber (thanks Billy and Sarah).

Building Australia was a commission by FOXTEL History Channel with support from the Screen Australia National Documentary Program.
